For the website I would use the orange one on white background with the text to the side.

I like the black and white one very much. :)

I am a bit confused how a cube is related to fife though. :( Is there something about 3D plans you're having which I missed?

Best of thanks to Lamoot's friend dfinitely!

It's an isometric cube so I think it fits the project :-)

Me too :)

A b/w version with grey transitions like in the colored examples would be perfect (IMO) :)

If it actuall WAS isomertic, I'd say "Go for it". But it ain't isometric! :-(

You're right that the cube isn't drawn in isometric perspective however FIFE isn't limited to isometric view anyway and the cube gives a nice impression of the 2.5d nature of the engine. Therefore I still think it would make a great new logo for FIFE.

A little status update concerning our website plans: we finally found a volunteer for the web designer position. The current plan is that Lamoot creates a visual template of the new website and the web designer turns this template into HTML & CSS and creates templates for the software solutions that we plan to use for the new website (mediawiki, drupal, wordpress, simple machines forums).

Lamoot is currently on vacation but he'll take a look into the design task and hopefully he can come up with something in the following weeks :-) Another little question from my side: how do you feel about a more international domain like fifengine.net or fifengine.org? .net and .org domains aren't that expensive (13 Euro per year) and I wouldn't mind paying for it. I wouldn't go for a .com domain, though it would be the same price as .net and .org but .com was meant for commercial undertakings in the beginning so that might not be well-suited for an open source project.

I am a bit late but I must say
(a) the images really are nifty
(b) i prefer black/white myself BUT I have no strong preference. I think all are great :)
