Okay, well I think the immediate issues are basically settled, though there's a lot of dirt under the carpet. 

I just wanted to throw in a tip for MSVC users -- in your trunk/engine/SConscript file, add the following line:

Exit(1)
at line 141, so that you get:

Code: [Select]
if(oldprojtxt <> projtxt):
open(vcprojfilename, 'w').write(projtxt)
print "FIFE msvc project file succesfully created (%s)" % os.path.abspath(vcprojfilename)
Exit(1)
else:
print "FIFE msvc project file already up-to-date (%s)" % os.path.abspath(vcprojfilename)

This will ensure that you don't waste time finishing a full build when you actually need to reload the project.  I am not committing this as it would currently end the build even if you aren't using MSVC (which would be really annoying).

there should be option in scons to do that; try:

scons projectfiles_only=1
