I can't install FIFE on Mac OSX Leopord
« on: March 17, 2009, 02:49:45 am »

I saw the Pychan code in Open Anno and I decided I'd like to use the module in my code for a city building game focused on the environment. I've already followed the download instructions on your forum, but the last step, entering scons into my terminal window in the trunk directory, didn't seem to work.
Can you please tell me why it probubly didn't work and what I have to do instead?
Thank you

Short answer: building on Mac systems seems to be awfully complicated. If you're not coming from a Linux background and are familiar working with gcc and hacking build scripts I don't think you got a serious chance to get it running. We would be glad to offer easier build support on Macintosh systems but it all comes down to finding a maintainer for the platform in the end. It's actually quite hard to find a developer with Linux experience and a proper programming background who volunteers for wrestling with the Mac build quirks :-/

Did you use this guide when you tried to build?

P.S. OpenAnno recently changed its name to Unknown Horizons :-)
