New SWIG version available: 1.3.34
« on: November 16, 2007, 07:02:37 am »

Just checked the SWIG site and saw that they released a new stable version yesterday.

Release announcement at their mailing list:
http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/forum.php?thread_name=473CD80D.5050405%40fultondesigns.co.uk&forum_name=swig-devel

What's new?
- shared_ptr support for Java and C#
- Enhanced STL support for Ruby
- Windows support for R
- Fixed long-standing memory leak in PHP Module
- Numerous fixes and minor enhancements for Allegrocl, C#, cffi,
Chicken, Guile, Java, Lua, Ocaml, Perl, PHP, Python, Ruby, Tcl.
- Improved warning support

I'm currently doing some tests with the new version on my win32 system. If everything works fine we could ship it with the new compile SDK release as the final version hasn't been uploaded to sourceforge yet. Could any of the linux-based developers test if SWIG 1.3.32 works fine in combination with FIFE?

SWIG 1.3.34 was recently released. This headline catched my interest:
Quote
SWIG-1.3.34 has been released. This release adds shared_ptr support for Python and fixes a number of various other bugs.

Does new shared_ptr support for Python influence the development of FIFE in any way?

If it would be useful I could package the new SWIG 1.3.34 release with the upcoming win32 compile SDK.
