Hello friends!
« on: May 12, 2008, 05:53:55 pm »

Hello everyone.

Another wannabe (me) has joined your ranks and would like to introduce himself.

My name is Tomas M. I've stumbled upon this project a few days ago. Because back in the days I was a big Fallout junkie I've got interested and I'm thinking about taking it for a spin with some indie/FOSS game project.

Personally, I am a more-less experienced C++ programmer. I develop FPS's for Epic Games by day and plot an Open Source Game Revolution by night.

I hope I will fit in with the rest of the Fife community.

Heya m64 :-) Reading the getting started guide at the wiki is often the best starting point in case you haven't already done so:
http://wiki.fifengine.net/Getting_started

The project is currently progressing rather slow because of the lack of time of the majority of the key developers. So all help by new blood is really appreciated :-) If you got questions post them here at the forums or get in contact with the other developers at our IRC channel:
http://wiki.fifengine.net/IRC

Greetings!

I have already read the getting started guide. I can understand the lack of time - it is a major problem I'm facing myself for quite some time now.

I have one question. Do you recommend using the official 2008.0 release or the current SVN revision?

Hey m64. Glad to have you with us. We hang out in our irc channel most of the time (#fife on quakenet). Feel free to stop in there and say hello.
