Hi, FIFE!
« on: April 17, 2013, 05:49:04 am »

I'm the founder and sole member of Supreme Studios, a game company.
I've been through roughly 30 other engines and none of them were good for my project.
But FIFE looked perfect -- So I got it, and Python, but I can't get it running.  ???Help?

Hi Supreme Studios,
we'd need some more information to help you.
I think you use the latest official release? If so you have first to install Python and FIFE then you can start to create games :D
We provide also a few demos and a mapeditor, you can find them here: https://github.com/fifengine/fifengine/wiki/Downloads

If you have other problems, please describe them and paste the log.

Thank you! I had Python 3.3, but I got 2.7 and re-installed. But the tools just won't work for me...

Oh no!  :(

I tried to do the map editor, a python window opened and closed within roughly a half second. Nothing happened. And I waited. And waited. Nothing.
Then I tried the "shooter" demo. It worked fine, except I couldn't fire  :-\ And after a "game over" screen, I tried to close it, but it stayed open, and my computer froze, except I could open up start and such, but I tried opening Task Manager....nothing happened. Task manager is meant to be running at all times, and why did it just break this time? I had to shut off the power box and restart the computer because it wouldn't let me do a shut-down.

:'( I hope I can figure this out sooner or later.

As I said, without more informations I can't help.
Which FIFE Version you are using? Which OS? Which python? Are there any error messages? If not try to start the stuff from the command line or enable logging in the settings.
