Loading dynamically generated images into Fife
« on: December 19, 2012, 06:59:44 am »

Hi, I have been playing with Fife for some time and generally everything is running smoothly but recently I came across a problem with feature that I need for my project. I'm generating dynamically charts with pyCairo which later I want to use in Fife. From pycairo I can get a Python buffer object with the image data in given format (e.g. ARGB32) which then I could use in Fife, but from what I've seen in fife code there is no function which can load whole image at once. I've tried to use files to load those images but this solution is to slow. Also I've tried to load those images pixel by pixel but this is also to slow (game freezes for a second or two at loading point ).

So here is my question.

Is there a way to load those images into fife in efficient way? If not how hard will it be to implement this feature into fife engine?

Thanks,
Sejten

I'm sorry but there is currently no way.
Yesterday we discussed the problem, we will fix it as soon as possible.

Also I have created a ticket for a pychan defect i found in 0.3.3r3. Please remove it if it already has been fixed.
