Oh and the current open issues with the website can be found here:  https://github.com/fifengine/fifeweb/issues

Those are good starting points!

Hi Emil,

I see you found our IRC channel.  Unfortunately I was AFK at the time.  I like your idea to use Discourse for the forum replacement and have considered it myself.  I've contacted them as an open source community asking for them to host our forums!  Hopefully they get back to me.

In the mean time our Website definitely needs some love.  The source for the site can be found here: https://github.com/fifengine/fifeweb

I can publish from that git repo very easily so you can contribute simply by forking the site and making any changes there for us to review.  As far as look and feel of the site I will leave it up to your creative direction.  Even small tweaks would be beneficial.

Looking forward to working with you!

Hi Emil,

Welcome to the FIFE community!  You are right that there has been little activity in FIFE :(  We would like to change that though and are currently looking for new developers who want to help out.  We need help in many areas (including web development) and I'm sure UH has a lot of stuff to do as well.  Feel free to post here or ask any questions in IRC.  Looking forward to hearing from you!

Thanks for the pointer emilhem.  Link has been updated.

Sorry for the slow response... Without knowing the full error...  I wonder if it was your settings file.  If this happens again try deleting your settings file and trying again.

Framework development / Re: 2D dynamic lighting

Oh yes.. completely doable if we implement the proper shaders (not a simple task).  We may need to update the map format as well to support some additional parameters and we may need to produce more art assets (height maps perhaps?) but yeah, it's definitely doable if we had the developers to implement it.

You will need to grab a copy of the latest SDK..    You can find it here:   http://members.fifengine.net/prock/FIFE_Development_Kit_Apr2012.zip

Help and troubleshooting / Re: Can't compile fifechan

Try using cmake instead.  We need to rip out autotools from fifechan as they are no longer maintained.

Sorry for the slow response.  Did you try to update your settings.xml file to SDL instead of OpenGL for the renderer?

Hi Vienastoks,

How has your exploration of FIFE been going?  Is there anything we can help you with?

Hi crimsonfire,

You should check out fife-rpg.  It's a framework using fife to help ease development of fallout type rpg games!
