Title: 2D dynamic lighting
Post by: Sejten on November 18, 2013, 06:52:27 am
Hi,

recently I stumbled upon this kickstarter project (http://"http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/829559023/confederate-express?ref=category"), and its 2D lighting engine looks quite impressive. I was wondering if something similar is possible in FIFE. Did someone tried to do something like it?

Oh yes.. completely doable if we implement the proper shaders (not a simple task).  We may need to update the map format as well to support some additional parameters and we may need to produce more art assets (height maps perhaps?) but yeah, it's definitely doable if we had the developers to implement it.

This would be a cool feature though.
